We left San Diego at about 9:30 this morning after breakfast at
IHOP.
We tooled up Interstate 5 until we got to the beginning of Pacific
Coast Highway 1 in Dana Landing.
The Journey begins!
There were miles and miles of curvy road
along the beach. Plus we got to see the dregges of L.A. Almost
put the top up during that part of the trip.(sorry no pics
there)
Stopped along the way and got bread and
meat and made sandwiches for lunch. Was quite nice.
Got to Solvang about 4 in the afternoon
... got a room at the King Fredrick Inn in Solvang. (nice place)
Then we went and toured the town, hitting the best places like
Rasmussen's Gift Store, Every Danish pastry place (they are like
Circle K's at home one on every corner)
We went to dinner at the Danish Inn and
Rick got his first taste of Danish food. Bangers and Mash, pickled
saurkraut and Danish meatballs. I thought it was pretty good but
he wasn't REAL impressed. That is not saying he didn't eat well
tho.
Back to the hotel and into the jacuzzi.
See you tomorrow.
