This is a First Grade Memory of "Anonymous"
She remembered the poem the class had to write titled...

"I Never Saw a Purple Cow"

by Gelett Burgess

I never saw a purple cow
I never hope to see one
But I can tell you anyhow
I'd rather see than be one!

I assume this is the poem
because it is the ONLY Purple Cow Poem I know.
If it isn't I am sure she will let me know
because she says that she still remembers the WHOLE POEM!

Here is another First Grade Memory from "Anonymous"

I remember getting in "Deep, Deep Trouble" for licking my blue marking pencil and painting my finger nails with the "paint" it made. Somehow, I got side-tracked and forgot about marking my paper and I guess when Mrs. Annesley looked back and saw my big blue mouth and fingers she went ballistic. She ran me to Mrs. Plennart (the nurse) to scrub my mouth out and told me I could get lead poisoning! In first grade, who knows about lead poisoning! I thought my nails were beautiful and they ruined them!

Anyone remember a little First Grader with Blue Lips and Fingers?
